MY ROUSES: OCEAN SPRINGS, MS
My Rouses is the one in Ocean Springs. I can get anything I need
at that one store. Ocean Springs is on the eastern shore of Biloxi
Bay, and celebrities like Elvis Presley used to come here for hydro-
therapy in our famous mineral ponds; Presley even had a summer
home here called Gulf Hills. We’re an artists’ colony. You can ride
your bike to the center of town, the coast and the bayous, and ev-
erywhere you look there is art.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT ROUSES
In January we hosted
Dan Aykroyd
at our Tchoupitoulas store.
He signed bottles of his
Crystal Head Vodka
for fans, including
two
Ghostbusters
in full costume.
Rouses team member Ronnie Slocum retired after 45 years in the
grocery business ... We had visitors from both coasts and every-
where in between for the Super Bowl. We even spotted fans in our
Gulfport store.
On February 2
nd
, the same night the Ravens drove away with the
Super Bowl trophy, Al Harding from Slidell drove away in his
brand new 2012 Fiat 500. Over 8,000 people entered our contest.
Parades passed right in front of our Lafayette store during the five
days of Le Festival de Mardi Gras Lafayette. We sponsored the
music stage.
On Lundi Gras, February 11
th
, the winners of our
Orpheus
ride, Donna and Emmit Moran from Mandeville, joined
Harry
Connick Jr
. and other celebrities for the Krewe’s 20
th
anniversary.
