Les Méres
You can taste the French origins of food all over the
Gulf Coast, from Biloxi, Mississippi, where explorer
Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville first visited in 1699, to
Mobile, Alabama, where d’Iberville eventually settled his
expedition headquarters. You can taste it in the seafood
au gratins and the oyster Rockefellers, the chicken
Creoles, shrimp remoulades and grits and grillades.
