For those of you who don’t know, Rouses
Grocery Store on Baronne has a very special
place in my heart. This may seem silly to
some of you, so I’ll explain. Yes, they have
wonderfully fresh produce and the most
beautiful salad bar you’ve ever seen. Yes, their
lunch menu always seems as though I’m
eating at my Maw Maw’s house. And yes
their Iced Chai Latte’s are the most yummy
coffee beverage I’ve ever consumed. (Which
I’m currently drinking) But what really sets
them apart from all grocery stores is the
employees! I never get anything less than
a huge smile and a "Good morning little
lady!” from the sweetest security guard I’ve
ever known. The barista’s always remember
my order, and most of them know me by
name! As I leave it’s always “enjoy the rest
of your day Ms. Emelie! See ya next time.”
The deli workers practically sing while taking
your order, they’re so happy. And the bakery,
haha ohhhhhh the bakery, the last time I got
cookies they were having a dance party! The
point of this glorified Rouses rant is not to
convince you to go there, but to convince you
that happiness is contagious. These people
have never ceased to put a smile on my face,
and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart. I leave
the grocery store, reenter the world and find
myself wanting to spread the happiness I’ve
just so graciously received. Happiness is a gift
that keeps giving, andTHANKYOURouses
family for always having a smile to spare.

Hmm ... Oh darn ... such a hard decision.
Ribeye steaks ... where to buy from? Winn
Dixie for $9.98 a lb, Publix for $8.99 a lb, or
Rouse’s for $5.98 a lb... I’m just so confused
whose got the better price? LOL!

In case someone wants to know how we
could eat ten pounds of crawfish between us
(besides being hungry), here is one medium
size crawfish and one peeled fairly large
crawfish tail. They are SOOOO GOOD
seasoned as Rouses did them, not too spicy
HOT, perfect!

The original seersucker suit was created by
New Orleans tailor Joseph Haspel and his
