Grady V’s American Bistro,
Bayou Country Club, thibodaux
This restaurant is a lunch and dinner
favorite for everyone at our corporate office.
The Hangover adds bacon and a fried egg
to the traditional House Angus Burger. We
add a side of hand-cut Truffle fries with
Parmesan cheese served with a garlic aioli.
The Legend-Dairy is stuffed with cheese,
topped with cheese and served between two
grilled cheese sandwiches.
the Company Burger,
new orleans
Adam Biederman serves his burgers with
house-made pickles and onions only, but you
can dress them with a variety of homemade
mayonnaises at the condiments bar. The
Company Burger is two 3.25-ounce patties,
two slices of American cheese, onions and
pickles. Get the rings AND the tater tots.
Callaghan’s Irish social Club,
Mobile
We’ve featured this bar’s cheeseburger
before, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get a bite
of Callaghan’s special, the L.A. Burger
(Lower Alabama), which is made with a
mixture of spicy Conechuh pork sausage
(also a Lower Alabama favorite). The L.A.
Burger is dressed with pepper jack cheese,
spicy mustard and coleslaw.
port of Call, French Quarter,
new orleans
You can smell the burgers grilling at this
Esplanade Avenue institution all the way
down the block. The same holds true at its
sister spot, Snug Harbor, on Frenchmen
Street. Every burger is a half-pound, with
toppings served on the side. Forget fries,
this is a baked potato place. Get it loaded.
Also try: Lakeview Harbor, New Orleans
woody’s roadside, ocean springs
Hot burgers and cold beer on tap. The
Woody Burger is their basic burger served
with Applewood bacon and cheddar or
provolone cheese, but it’s twists like the
Macho Nacho Burger with chorizo and fried
jalapenos and the Get Me to the Greek lamb
burger that draw a crowd to Woody’s.
Fat pat’s, lafayette
Trade the Big Mac for the Big Fat. The
Fat Boy Burger is two all-beef patties,
special sauce, lettuce, onions, tomato and
pickle. Fat Pat’s gets a vote for most unusual
combination: a hamburger topped with
macaroni and cheese and chili.
Yo Mama’s, French Quarter,
new orleans
This is not your Mama’s burger place
(or your Daddy’s). It’s a French Quarter
biker bar that serves hamburgers and baked
potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Try the
Peanut Butter & Bacon Burger
or the Bullfighter, which has
jalapenos, avocado and salsa.
Another Late Night Favorite:
the Swamp Room, Metairie
Judice Inn, lafayette
This iconic spot has served
up hamburgers flavored with
local spices since 1947. Burgers
and cheeseburgers are dressed
with the Original Judice Sauce,
lettuce, a mustard-and-mayonnaise mixture,
and an onion slice on the side. Make it a
double.
time to eat, theodore
We always have time for a burger at this
famous lunch spot right next door to our
Theodore market. Clock in for one of 14
burgers served lunch and dinner.
Gourmet Favorites:
la petite Grocery, new orleans:
With
house pickles, onion marmalade, arugula,
whole grain mustard, aioli and Gruyére
cheese.
French press, lafayette:
½ pound burger
dressed with the usual and an over-medium
egg, two strips of smoked bacon, American
cheese and special sauce.
lüke, new orleans:
Served with Allan
Benton’s bacon, caramelized onions and
Swiss cheese.
Dickie Brennan’s steakhouse, French
Quarter, new orleans:
A grilled burger
served with green leaf lettuce, shaved red
onion, and vine-ripened tomato.
