MY
ROUSES
EVERYDAY
MARCH | APRIL 2013
I
t appears the rest of the country is finally catching up to the way we eat.
SupermarketNews
reported that the
AmericanCulinary Federation
has
identified locally sourced meats and seafood, and locally grown produce,
as hot trends for 2013.
Eating local has been a hot trend around here for centuries.
Other trends to watch? We’re adding even more international groceries to our
shelves, as Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern, European and Central American
and South American food becomes even more popular. You can shop the
world in our store. We’re also introducing new farmstead cheeses, and artisanal
breads, charcuterie, honeys and chocolate, and other smaller batch, distinctive
products. And more choices for people on special diets are hitting our shelves
every day. Gluten-free food is becoming even more popular than 2012.
We here at Rouses are celebrating one other trend; it’s an upward trend, from
#10 to #7 on the
Supermarket News
list of
2013 Top 10 Small Chains and
Independents.
Thank you for helping us grow our local company into a
national success.
